I hit the ground running this morning. It was supposed to be a fully booked day from 9 am until 7 pm. I sent Jared out the door to work and immediately got in a workout. Right after my workout, I threw on a hoodie, leashed up the dog and headed out on our walk. We did a little bit over a mile at a pretty quick pace.
Once I was home, I jumped in the shower and quickly got ready for work. I had to pack a day of food to take with me. I don’t have a microwave at work right now, so I like to keep it simple. Hard boiled eggs with apple slices and almond butter, a tuna pack mixed with mayo and a side of cold veggies, a snack of an RX Bar and a chomps beef stick. I threw a limon cello lacroix water in my bag and I was ready for the day. Then the day fell apart, but at least I already had the hard parts accomplished.
I went to work for the first couple hours and then I had a large break in the middle. I came home and took care of the dog and worked on some things on the computer. Man, technology problems always make me want to snack. I feel like I think better when I’m snacking. No snacks for these issues though.
I headed back to work for a few hours. Usually around this time of the day, I need a little caffeine treat to get me through the rest of the afternoon. I haven’t been needing caffeine though, so that’s a nice little change I’ve been experiencing. After work I came home to get things ready for dinner. We decided we would have leftover burgers in lettuce wraps, and I went the extra mile and made some sweet potato fries. I tried a recipe that promised they would get crispy. Either they lied or I failed because they were not even close to crispy. No worries, they were still tasty.
I know on the Whole30, weighing and measuring things is not supposed to happen, but I need to make sure I am hitting enough protein. I had one burger all wrapped up fancy like, and some “fries”. Jared had two burgers, because he needs the protein, and some fries. We sure do love burgers.
We talk about how we would like our nutrition to look after this is all over, and we both agree that we need to have way less bread and cheese. Bread, cheese, and sugar are truly the only things we have changed in our diet, and neither of us are really ready to give up bread or cheese entirely. We kinda agreed that a burger is just so much better with a bun and pickles, so burger buns will probably be one of the few times that we eat bread. Unless we are seriously intolerant of cheese, that will also be coming back in moderation. I think most of our choices are being built around the foods that we absolutely love. Burgers.
Apparently Jared took the day off work tomorrow, but I still have to be up early. He wants to stay up late, but I am finding that I need an earlier bedtime every night of the week. So I think I am going to have a bowl of applesauce and get ready for bed. Good night!
